Quality Certification Center recently received a letter from Saudi
Arabia's Bureau of standards, metrology and quality control (SASO),
explaining the requirements of strictly prohibiting the labeling of
'SASO' on products and packages exported to Saudi Arabia. It is hereby emphasized that:
1. Please note that manufacturers and exporters should not
paste, mold or print SASO words or SASO logo on products exported to
Saudi Arabia and any layer of packaging without SASO's formal written
permission.
2. Without the formal written permission of SASO, please do
not paste, mold or print words like 'this product complies with SASO
standards' on the products exported to Saudi Arabia and any layer of
packaging.
3. The contents of articles 1 and 2 above are strictly
prohibited by SASO. Even if your Saudi buyer requires you to do so on
products or packaging, please be sure to inform your buyer that you
cannot do so.
4. If the above situation occurs, your goods will be rejected by Saudi customs for customs clearance.
