Toy Directive (EN71)

Product introduction: 1、 EN71 Certification Summary The EN71 Toys Directive applies to any product or material designed for or intended for children under the age of 14 to play with. If charged, the power supply cannot exceed 24V. If toy products are legally sold in the European Union, they must comply with the requirements of Toys Directive 88/378/EEC and be marked with the CE mark. Classification of age groups based on different categories of toy products:1. From birth to 18 months2. From 19 months to 36 months3. From birth to 36 months4. Over 37 months5. 60 months and below6. From 37 months to 72 months7. From 37 months to 96 months8. From 96 months to 168 monthsTo ensure the safety of products, different regions have established safety standards to implement strict testing and production process control at different stages of product production. Among them, the European standard is one with a relatively wide range of applications. Any product that goes to Europe inevitably undergoes strict testing according to the EN71 standard, and toys are no exception. The most commonly used ones are Torque&Tension, Drop Test, Impact Test, and Compression Test. EN71 is the normative standard for toy products in the European Union market. Europe has introduced the Toy EN71 Certification Act, which aims to standardize the technology of toy products entering the European market through the EN71 standard, in order to reduce or avoid harm to children caused by toys. The European Commission officially published the new harmonized toy safety standard EN71-1:2011 in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU) on June 18, 2011. The new coordinated standard is established in accordance with the new toy safety directive 2009/48/EC (effective date: July 20, 2011).  EN71-9 General Requirements for Organic Compounds - specifies the total migration amount of toxic compounds present in each toy or toy material in the following exposure modes: contact with the mouth; Possibility of ingestion; Skin contact; Eye contact; Inhalation. The products within the standard range include toys designed for children under 3 years old (as these toys may be chewed by children in their mouths), and products designed for older children (these products may come into contact with children's mouths, skin, or be inhaled by children)
