To determine compliance with the requirements of this standard, assessments of CRP models for resistance to children and for efficacy in advanced adult use should be performed on either a full protocol or a sequential protocol.
(1) Selection agreement
The test protocol should be selected before the test begins. Changes to the test protocol are not allowed.
(2) Complete protocol test
Full protocol testing for resistance efficacy in children and efficacy in advanced adult use should be performed in accordance with Chapter 8. Results shall be recorded and evaluated as specified in Clauses 6 and 10. Instead of a complete scheme, a sequential scheme can be used.
(3) Sequential protocol test
Sequential protocols are only available for child resistance and advanced adult efficacy testing may not
Execute in order. Sequential protocol testing should be performed in accordance with Chapter 8. Results shall be recorded and evaluated in accordance with clauses 6 and 9.
NOTE: Sequential protocol testing has been developed as an alternative to full protocol testing. It reduced the number of children tested by using statistical trend analysis.
(4) Similar models for evaluating child protective bags
Models in the CRP series can be tested individually or in arrays as specified in Chapter 11.
(5) Test items
5.1. Physical test
5.2. Life test
Life testing (see clause 12.3) shall be performed during the initial evaluation of the CRP model.
5.3 Leak test
Leak testing shall comply with the following requirements (see clause 12.4):
a) Trials should be performed during the initial evaluation of the CRP model and only for CRPs intended for use in liquid formulations.
b) When tested in accordance with 12.4, the pass/fail criteria of Table 2 and applicable Table 3 apply.
